Overall tasty meal. 3/4 of the party had never tried Vietnamese food and really enjoyed it. Our table ordered:
Pho Bo (beef pho),
Thit Lon Bung Ot-pork belly main dish,
a daily special that had to be sent back as it had mussels which was a dietary no-no,
Goi Ca Rot Bun-noodle and carrot salad,
Banh Phong Tom- prawn crackers,
Spring rolls and
Two order of fried rice off the kids menu.
The beef pho was tasty but the broth was not as flavorsome as others I've had. The noodle and carrot salad was fresh and tasty. Prawn crackers are tasty as per usual. My friends loved with pork belly dish and fried rice.
The portion sizes are a bit confusing, there are small plates and large plates and we were encouraged to get 3 smalls per person or one large +1 small. This would have been way too much food-even for this hungry American! . For four adults, (2 Scottish men, 1 Scottish woman, 1 American woman) our order was a gratuitous amount of food. It was quite fortuitous that one of the mains had to be sent back as there was no more room on our table! For us, two mains and five smalls was too much and next time I'd only order 3 small plates. -

I was so shocked to find Vietnamese food in Glasgow but was surprisingly pleased! From a good ol' Google search of good eats in Glasgow, The Hanoi Bike Shop was on top. After a week of touring the UK and Ireland, we were done with bangers and mash and were more than happy to done anything that wasn't meat and potatoes.
This place is chic AF! The fact that our hotel concierge squealed with excitement when we told her we were going to come here for lunch meant this was the place to be. We got there right when they opened so we were seated right away, inside. They quickly inquired if anybody needed a vegan or gluten-free menu (that's how you know this is a hip and trendy spot) and we got a normal menu and the GF menu. We all ordered types of pho because we were feeling a little under the weather from our traveling and nothing does it like a warm bowl of pho.
So my caveat is that my husband is Vietnamese and the friends we were traveling with have traveled to Vietnam with us before, so we are connoisseurs of Vietnamese food. I ain't even ashamed to say it. That being said, we were so impressed and so satisfied. We also ordered some egg rolls and spring rolls to share and gobbled it up.
I won't be back in Glasgow any time soon but will highly recommend this spot to anybody that goes!!! -

While in Glasgow, this was probably the highlight of our culinary experience. The place is small, cozy with several different nooks and crannies. Spending time there, the place reminded me of small Indian college canteens - mismatched tables, random snippets of conversation, cozy atmosphere, delicious smells and amazing, homey food.
Anurag and I started with the Sweetcorn and coconut fritters. Fluffy and delicious. I had their special fish entree and it was absolutely delicious. Huge portion size, and very hearty. The broth was the right balance between salty, sweet and tart - we inhaled it between the 2 of us. It does not come with a carb, so we ordered it with a side of the rice - much needed and made for a great combination.
Anurag also had the seafood pho - there was no way we could finish the pho - we took it back to go. Chock full of seafood and very delicious.
We didn't eat dessert, but everything on the menu looked delicious. I would love to come back the next time we are in town. -

Used to be brilliant for veggies, but when I went in at the weekend they no longer had a separate veggie/vegan menu. Which would be fine, if one of the (v)-marked options didn't include shrimp paste so I can't trust that any of the other labelled vegetarian options are truly veggie. Won't be back until they sort it which is a shame because their stuff is delicious.

As weary Asian-American tourists, we were craving some tasty Asian food and Hanoi Bike Shop largely delivered. The soybean cakes were salty and tasty, served with a large portion of green onions and fried onions. The pork belly and rice cakes were well fried and paired with a great green salad, although a bit drowned in the slightly too-sweet sauce. The pho was good as well. It wasn't particularly authentic, per se, but it really hit the spot, and a great plus was staff was friendly and attentive.
